Life & Sports Academy players during a match-day fixture in Nairobi, Kenya

Nairobi, Kenya · Football academy

Where Kenyan football is built

We train boys and girls from Under-9 to Under-20 in Nairobi: professional coaching, competitive fixtures every weekend and schooling that keeps every player's options open on and off the pitch.

Programmes

Four pathways, one curriculum

A player joins the age band that fits and moves up on readiness, not on age alone.

U9–U12

Foundation

Under-9 to Under-12

First touch, first team-mates. Small-sided games, ball mastery and a love of turning up.

U13–U16

Development

Under-13 to Under-16

Position-specific work, strength and conditioning, and league football that tests it every weekend.

U17–U20

Elite pathway

Under-17 to Under-20

Full-time load for players chasing professional contracts, scholarships or the national set-up.

U11–U20

Girls' academy

Under-11 to Under-20

A dedicated girls' pathway with its own coaching staff, fixtures and travelling squads.

The method

Identify, coach, compete, progress

  1. Identify

Open trials each term across Nairobi, plus scouting at school and estate tournaments. No fee to try out.

  2. Coach

A single curriculum from Under-9 upward, so a player moving age group meets the same principles, not a new philosophy.

  3. Compete

Every squad plays a real fixture list. Players are picked on merit and rotated so nobody develops from the bench.

  4. Progress

Termly reviews with players and parents, and placement support into clubs, colleges and scholarship programmes.

Off the pitch

A footballer is a person first

Schooling comes first

Sessions sit outside school hours and attendance is checked. A player who is not in school does not play at the weekend.

Nutrition and recovery

A meal after every session, hydration on site, and a physio clinic once a week for the older squads.

Life skills

Termly workshops on money, media, discipline and mental health, run with the players rather than at them.

Safeguarding

Vetted coaches, a named welfare officer per squad and a confidential route for players and parents to raise anything.
